Why do I need an attorney for a first-party claim?
It’s important to have a second opinion when your insurance company comes to you, and they tell you, either your claim’s denied, or they’re offering you a certain amount of money, but you don’t know if that’s enough money to pay for the property damage to your property to return it to the condition that it was before the property was damaged in the first place. You may think it’s enough, but there may be additional money you could be owed under your policy. Oftentimes, you just get the first page of your insurance policy, giving you all different types of coverage. Then there’s 90 pages of exclusions.
Oftentimes, tucked away in those exclusions are sub parts of your policy, sub coverages where you could be paid, that you may be entitled to. So that initial offer that you get from your insurance company, even if you’re just negotiating with them, there may still be more money on top of the offers that they’re giving you. You would come to us, we would give you a second opinion, we would hire experts, professionals to figure out the total extent of your damages, figure out how much you need to be paid to fix your property and bring it back to that condition that it was before the damaged happened in the first place before you settled your claim.
